In my exploration of contemporary abstract art, I collaborate with the local landscapes surrounding Birmingham, Alabama, and the seasonal cycles of the natural world.

Abstraction is more than a stylistic preference—it's a deliberate choice that enables an exploratory, introspective, and mindful process.

My creative practice is a form of meditation.

Art-making plays a critical role in my attempt to recover from PTSD and severe anxiety disorders. This journey guides me to discover beauty and serenity amidst the chaos and uncertainty of everyday life.

Through my work, I aim to cultivate a sacred space where viewers can reflect upon their inner landscapes through a more centered and grounded presence inspired by the ease with which the natural world exists.

Her art becomes a conduit for serenity, inviting a deeper appreciation for the nuanced interplay of form, color, and the natural world.

“The beauty of Kait’s art is that you can see yourself reflected so eloquently back at yourself within it. Even though the pieces themselves are beautiful, you see within them the parts of yourself that feel messy & unknowable by anyone. It’s there in the emotion of the painting & you want to point to it & say to someone, “There, see, that’s me - know me there.”
